I can remember my first Technics, but not my first turntables, I do remember however that the first turntables had some shabby plastic case in the light grey grainy cheap plastic colour that was the norm for cheap stuff and that the belt drive was so bad…. (ok had to cut here or I would have used inappropriate words that I would have had to ban me for).
Also I remember damaging the turntable when “upgrading” them with a DIY pitch control.
First mixer… I am drawing a blank there, I think it was 2 channels and very small, no crossfader of course…

My first turntable was a Garrard SP25 MK3 along with a sinclair s2000 amplifier, that was in 1977 when i was 12 years old.

    My first mixer:

Usually for a home setup the “amp” was a home stereo system. After that I remember buying a cheap small amp from Radio Shack and using some small monitors. Now I just use my computer since most of my DJing is making mixes to put online.

Heh, I have that just as a backup. Those old Geminis can sure last.

That’s about my 4th or 5th mixer ! Who remembers this one ?

I loved it as i had control on the Eq..My fader knobs often went missing from set to set …I dug this up while going through my record collection thought i’d sold it 😉
