    well i don’t know a ton about monitors, but i would say that these might not be very loud….especially at this price. Theu also are a slave and master so that might not be great. But for what you said you need they will probably get by

    They have good clear sound, are decently loud and have a pretty good low end when you switch on “bass boost” at the back.

    If you search around online you can get a pretty good deal on them. I got mine for just over $100 CAD.

    Just an FYI on how loud monitors need to be, monitors should be able to output at 85-90dB SPL (A weight). Why this loud? Look at a loudness contour graph. This sound level is where the difference in apparent volume of frequencies is relatively flat across the spectrum.

    I seconds the M-Audio AV 40, at the price point (and prolly a hundret more) you will find nothing that can beat them at this time.
