I can just say MC6000. Split cue, standalone mixer, built like a tank. 2 separate mic channels with independent EQ and reverb/ducking

I like the mc6000 as well. High quality mixer and product.

The problem with most modular setups is that they depend on the USB connection to work.

I personally have an X1 and Z1 that I use as my “backup” setup. There is no mic in for it, so I also travel with a small behringer mixer to handle my mics if my s4 decides to quit on me.

It really depends on how much redundancy you have and are looking for. I do mobile gigs with multiple laptops, so if one crashes, I can still use a different one. I also make sure I have 2 controllers as well as an iPhone that can play what I need if everything else fails.

With that being said, I like the modular setup. It allows me to have the bare minumum if needed, and it allows me to add what I need to it as I go.

I’m in the process of going back to a modular setup. X1600 at the core, two SC2000s for transport and basic control, and two Neons for the fancy-pantsy pad stuff… After having tried a variety of combinations over the past 5 years (since switching to digital) this combination finally has me really excited.

The X1600 might work for you too. Traktor certified so no additional box required, and lots of midi controls on the mixer to map to whatever features you want.

I had a 1600 for a while and got rid of it. It’s fine, if you are into mapping and spending boat loads of time (which I don’t have – moderating this place eats up your spare time) getting it set up just right for your use.
