you don’t realy need it because even if it would be more acurate the code that VDJ uses the same code for every song so it will be accurate to the rest of your VDJ scanned songs. But if you wan’t to use other programs too for DJ’ing MIK would be vice as it can write it to tag or/and file name.
But for only VDJ you could use your money on something else.

Well I like the camelot scale style of MiK and write the results in the comments tag. Works like a charm.
Of course you strictly do not NEED it, but some things in there are nice to have. I also found that the bpm that MiK detects on songs where VDJ or Traktor have problems with detection, it does a better job and hence helps you gridding the song.

I would give Rapid Evolution a shot. I downloaded RE3 a few weeks ago (it’s free by the way) and it allowed me to put together a really fantastic trance set, which would have been much more difficult if i hadn’t have had the software. There’s a review on here comparing the different harmonic mixing software and although I remember MiK had the greatest accuracy, it wasn’t all that much greater than RE3 (50% accurate vs. 38% accurate if I remember correctly). I’m not sure how much better it would be for you than your VDJ detection though.

As Gulli mentioned however, MiK wouldn’t be worth it for you as long as you’re using VDJ since it’s already detected for you. If you end up changing software then you may want to look into it a little further. In the mean time though, RE3 is a great, no cost option.

I used RE for ages as previously it was the most accurate but things have changed now. I chose to buy MiK as its the “biggest” of all the software options so development will be ongoing and I’m sure if someone discovers some better key detection algorithm, MiK will be the first to get it (I hope…)

Thanks for your views maybe I’ll give Rapid Evolution a shot first so I don’t have to fork out money that I don’t really need to spend.
