    I kinda liked the show, it was entertaining and all – although it could have been called ‘master of the scratch’ in my opinion. The judges seemed to favor scratch/battle style DJing much more than anything else. Of course, given how short the performances were, no surprise there. Especially Kid Capri seemed to be very oldskool in his judging, not really appreciating any act that didn’t have a scratch routine in it. And Mia Moretti? Never even heard of her before the show… and she never basically had anything to say.

    But overall a decent show, hope they’ll pick up the pace and get some better judges for season 2!

    I thought the judging was suspect also. There was an interview done on one of the DJ’s that was on the show. His name was DJ Hohme. It was that guy they refereed to as the Ipad DJ.     Season 2 was much better IMO. They were more about DJing with better judges and Just Blaze was a much better host. The big thing that killed me about this season was that it was more about how well can you put together a predetermined set. Not once were they challenged with having to react to the crowd. Being able to read the crowd is the number one skill a DJ can have. Also, because the sets were so short, unless you were a scratching, hot mix style DJ, you didn’t stand a chance. Also the fact that everything was based on turntables even though in the application, they said there would be CDJs on the show. Kid Capri is a dinosaur and is amazed by even the simplest controllerism, Mia Moretti didn’t seem credible at all and Ben Madahii seemed to be the most reasonable but didn’t carry much clout to me because he was an A&R guy, not a DJ. On top of all of that, Kid Capri’s set was just all of his sets…simply awful. Flat out, he is not a good DJ IMHO…

    Hopefully they will bring Just Blaze back and get it right next time.
