Mash-up with two tracks that have been mixed differently?

What you could try to do is run the less loud track through mastering software, bumping it up to a 2 dB dynamic range tracks, it will SOUND much louder at the same volume settings now (probably will sound more like the rest of the overcompressed modern stuff, but hey).
