VCI is the most portable, NS6 has the most features including 4 decks, S1 feels most like using CDs.

I am sorry to say that Pioneer has not the same quality on their controllers as on their CDJs.

If you are used to Denon and Numark I would suggest 2 controllers that are really good IMO the two best.

Denon DN MC6000 and Numark NS6.

The MC6000 is a lot smaller so you can easy take it with you
it has a lot of extras that no other controller on the market has
and the famous Denon quality. You can use it with any software that can be bought.
The joggwheels may apper small but they are really good for nudging and scratching
(Not for competing in DMC but normal scratching works fine and accurate)
MC6000 comes with Traktor LE in EU and VDJ LE in US. so you might need to
upgrade or buy some software. It is rock solid IMO (I have one of those)

The NS6 is bigger so it can not be taken in a backpack
it has bigger joggs and Numark has really rased the quality on this.
It comes with ITCH so you do not need to buy/upgrade any software.
It can be used with other sw but the layout is IMO not good for other SW
and then you pay for ITCH and do not use it (waist of money IMO).

I do think these two will meet your specs nicely
As for price the MC6000 is a bit cheaper but you will need to buy or upgrade software
After upgrading mine to NI Traktor 2 pro ther was still money left so the MC6000 is a bit cheaper anyway.

I suggest you try them in a store before purchase…..
