Well if your looking into a ddj sb by pioneer ill have to say its a pretty good controller to start out with that’s forsure I’ve been using mine with full serato dj for the last few months and have definitely picked up a lot from it, much fun! I’ve also heard the mc2000 is pretty good also

What about if I upped my budget to £300, would that make a huge difference?

I would echo advice I’ve read here and elsewhere…. pick your software/workflow, then your hardware to suit that choice… Also, consider the cost of the full version of your chosen software, as that makes an entry-level controller more spendy, but makes a mid-level controller a somewhat better deal.

I started on Numark Mixtrack Pro 2, but they also have the quad out for 4 track use. Under £200 still I think. I was at BPM at the weekend and new Numark NV looks good but is creeping above your budget

Novation Twitch with full Serato DJ has served me well. They messed up the mapping, but partnered with Serato remote for ipad it’s great value. If you have an iPad then I’d certainly look at getting a Twitch on eBay. Much more functionality than the entry level controllers. I just wish they hadn’t messed up the mapping.
