DISCLAIMER: As this topic is not ment for the average digital DJ that practices at home, plays at house parties, plays in clubs or most mobile DJs that cater to <250/300 people, my answers will assume a certain base level of knowledge. If you don’t know whay I am talking about (in general) when you read my answers, rest assured you don’t want to get deeper into live sound.

All answers I give in this topic are, obviously, IMHO. They are, however, based on both theoretical and practical knowledge and experience and will usually reflect industry best-practices.

I will be slightly more outspoken on gear issues (brands, models, types of gear) than I will be in other forums/topics. I will be more inclined to tell you about the stuff I have used. Not to say it’s better, but just because I have more knowledge of it and thus better insight into something being suitable to the person stating the question.

Vintage, Terry, you’ve both helped me a lot deciding what to get for my amp.
I will come back later maybe with a short list of options…

oh, and it’s 240 W RMS continuous @8 Ohm.. so i will look for an amp of around 2*300W @ 8 Ohm, with a minimum impedance of at least 4 Ohm (which will give 2*600W for 4 parallel speakers, but at a lower resistance). Connections are two In/Out ¼” phone jacks per speaker. I will look into changing them to Speakon, if not only for a more secure connection.

Thanks so much for all the info, i felt a bit back in highschool, talking al this power, resistance and capacities.. 🙂

    regards,

You are most welcome and I have to say I felt more like I was in the audio geek version of Big Bang Theory hehe
