I think the s2 from what I have Sean will do all if not the same as a x1 so not sure why you would run it along side the s2 but yes it would work I supose . The x1 is more vinal setup along side a basic mixer, well that’s the impression I get from it anyway I could be rong and I’m sure I will be corrected soon if I am.

The S2 is a great mid range controller, it can do everything you will need to start with. I would advise to purchase this on its own 1st and push it to its limits. Once you have mastered it, you will have no problem including any other MIDI controllers into your set up. If your laptop has limited USBs you can add a hub in order to get everything linked to the laptop.

Use 1 piece of kit until you fully exhaust its potential. Once you know what it is NOT capable of you will be able to make a better decision as to what your next purchase should be.

The Set up that you works with the S4 pretty well:
So it should also work with the S2 if you have Traktor Pro, since they are connected via USB.
Hope I could help a little bit 😉

Which In my opinion is a pretty complete semi-pro dj controller, but I was asking myself if it would be possible to use the kontrol X1, and the S2 simultanosly complementing each other. or plug in a maschine, to the set up (not to the S2), to have extra buttons. Could this be my dream setup ?

Regards from Guatemala.

I actually have the S2 and maschine mikro and I have the vestax pad one. I held off on buying maschine mikro for 4 months until I learned alot more about traktor pro 2. I’m glad I did because I find they complement each other quite well and both have the same kind of intuitive navigation with the software. I guess that is expected coming from the same company.
In my opinion I would not use the maschine for “extra buttons”…if you mean using it as a midi controller? I think the strength of maschine is with its music production capabilities and ability to make live performances all the more seamless. This would work great with the S2 if you sync them together. If you check on youtube the guys from dubspot have a couple good clips on ways you can use maschine and traktor together.
If you want something for extra buttons you should look into the vestax pad one, midi fighter or a korg. They are cheaper in price and more suitable for midi mapping if that’s what you want to do.
