It’s not that I’ve a problem with cloud computing, it’s purely the DRM. It’s true that it doesn’t help in all cases, but refusing to participate in draconian DRM has has an impact on the market – especially in the game industry (which is my day job).
That said, I have a lot of experience writing audio software, and I know what MIK is doing under the hood – identifying the tones that are being played in a track is a dawdle, the only hard part is the expert system that takes the data from there and determines the key. I am seriously considering extending KeyFinder (FOSS rules!) to see if I can manage to help increase its accuracy. I won’t bore y’all with the technical details, but it seems worth my time.
