That guy talk’s a hell of a lot but doesn’t say much, I’d take anything he says with a grain of salt.

VDJ Pro, turntables, reloop dj2, novation nocturn at home, plus I have a efx1000, djm600, kaoss pad 2, stanton SA-6, Numark DXM09, mpd 24, mpk mini, icon idj, icon istage, reloop contour… I prefer timecode as I like the feeling of vinyl, but the heart of everything is VDJ Pro, and because the software is as customizable as it is, I can have the functionality of any hardware that I want, and instead of having to buy another piece of hardware anytime a want a change I can just remap anything anyway I can think of, or ask the vdj developer community to make a new plugin.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disc_jockey kind of sums it up particularly if you read the History of how music medium has evolved.

Pffft. If you’re playing music in public and you don’t have a set list, and are choosing music on the fly, you’re DJing. Doesn’t matter if you’re using a computer, vinyl, or banging two rocks together.

Being digital you can still be a DJ, do not let anyone tell you otherwise only pity them for being closed minded.
