ParticipantHi Peter,
just some thoughts for you:
what city do you live in, does it have an interesting sound in it?
what’s your favourite song? Crate digging might give you splendid ideas. And i mean song names not the dj name..
What’s your favourite artist (music related or maybe not)?
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
etc.. i guess you get the idea.good luck man!
regards,
King of Snake
(song by underworld and i’m from a city that sounds like ‘snake’ when pronounced in Dutch)
(oh and in that city a peppermint candy called ‘KING’ is produced…)February 5, 2015 at 8:50 pm #2136411DJ Vintage
ModeratorThanks King, you old Fries! That’s putting Holland on the map LOL
@OP: Too bad you don’t want DJ in your name. DJ PeeJay would have some nice alliteration to it đŸ˜›
P.S. That is Fries as in FREEZ, not as in French Fries. LOL

ParticipantLol, my housemate jokingly suggested DJ BJ. Cheers housemate!
I do love the spelling for PeeJay though! Could maybe consider having just PeeJay.
Would be nice to be Pete something though.

ParticipantI honestly like Peter Clarke.
Sounds like a superstar DJ name.

ParticipantDoes it lol? There’s so many Peter Clarke’s in the world, including another person in my family and a footballer. People like Eric Prydz have a unique name, I don’t.

ParticipantWell in the UK (where I’m from), there’s loads of Peter Clarke’s anyway lol.

ParticipantHi Peter,
if you still think about using your own name, how about Pete Klark, Pete Clarque, Clarke Peterson, Tom(my) Clarke etc etc.. you know the drill now..
regards,
King of Snake

ParticipantEy good suggestions!! Thank you, I’ll consider which one.
February 9, 2015 at 2:04 am #2137691ScottoRobotto
ParticipantThe name I’ve been using is ScottoRobotto. A while back my friends started calling me that as a take off of Mr. Robotto and since my name is Scott O. The internal rhyme and the connection to the song by Styx makes it work. I don’t use DJ in my name per say, I’ve been introducing myself as, “I’m your DJ, ScottoRobotto.”
Personally I would use a name like DJ PC or alternatively spelling it DeeJay PC. The repetition of abbreviations gives it a nice punch I think and the imagery with a computer could be interesting for marketing. For a logo I would use a head with headphones on the back of a laptop sort of like the old Napster logo. When you play out you could have a laptop with just the head part of the logo on the back. I would make the logo out of UV reactive material and hit it with a UV light to make it pop.

ParticipantHow about DJ Pete J or DJ Jamie or DJ Lil’ J or DJ Lil’ P.
Otherwise use name generators Google it!
Good luck with this!February 9, 2015 at 11:35 pm #2138671Peter Clarke
ParticipantCheers for the suggestions. I do still prefer not to have ‘DJ’ in the name though aha, just seems to be a bit old fashioned imo. It does have a good punch though I agree.
Also when I do decide on my DJ name (which atm, looks like it might be Pete Klark), should I start making Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Soundcloud, Mixcloud etc pages under my DJ name when I’m decided on the name? Or should I wait until I have had more experience of DJing considering I am only a beginner really, even though I have made one mixtape already?

ParticipantDj Pete Clarke sounds professional.

ParticipantI would wait a little bit until you’re sure that’s the name you want to use and after you generate a little bit of content. Once you do, then commit to regularly producing content, it’s all part of promoting your brand.
