If there’s one thing I learned when it comes to music it is that people don’t like good music. They only like crap. They are unable to appreciate good productions of proper artist. Just look at what’s currently in the charts.

I have given up on changing the world around me a loooong time ago.

Well, that all depends. Since music is a matter of taste, who are we to determine if something is good taste or not?

Just because you like something else than what the mainstream of the population likes, doesn’t mean you are right and they are wrong, or the other way around. It simply means they have a DIFFERENT taste than you.

Which is a good thing because it leaves room for everyone.

No it doesn’t. A singer that writes his/her own songs, plays his/her own songs and has a really good voice beats the crap out of any popstar that has to sing with autocue and playbacks in a live performance to songs that somebody else wrote any day of the year in any genre.

Music is a matter of taste, but only if there is any. I am perfectly fine with people being fans of Bruce Springsteen. He’s a good singer, writes awesome lyrics and is a real performer. But I don’t like most of his songs. This is a difference in taste. Not liking Justin Bieber for instance has a totally different reason.

The funny thing is, when you let them listen to the tracks they became famous with in the nineties, they will instantly recognise them.

Not surprising.  Many European DJs would roll their eyes when Americans would praise them, acting like dance music is some new thing…when the European DJs would say how the US invented the modern sound and has had it since the 80s.

You say in a reply, the US has been alienating them selves from the EDM movement….. they invented the word EDM… before like 2010 it was called Dance music.

What i meant to say is the “electronic/dance” movement, I was under the impression since everyone use the word “EDM” these days lol
