    I almost only use the term EDM anymore. I just got fed up with the constant analysis of sub-genres & the rules for what makes a certain type of music a certain genre. Saying EDM is a quick n’ easy catch all answer.

    I call it EDM because I play every eingle sub-genre of EDM. so…..this topic goes way too in depth. It’s EDM. I hate calling it techno, uninformed 13 yr olds call it that

    Pretty much. As far as I see it, EDM is what people use to describe electronic music as a whole. Then there are sub-genres in it, like house, electro-house, trance, breaks, jungle, ect, ect. Dance really isn’t a genre, since EDM stands for Electronic Dance Music, but you have the right frame of thinking 😉

    You have no idea how many people ask me, “So your a DJ huh? You, like, you love playing Tiesto and Guetta and Calvin Harris right? They are soo good!” I just laugh and respond, “No, I play good music.” haha
