MemberDifficult to answer your question because you clearly dont want to tell even a little thing about your idea. Patents are expensive and it will take you a lot of time to get your idea registered. After those costs you will still have to sell your idea, something that will also cost you a lot of time. I would try to contact somebody in the R&D section of NI if you think your idea is really good. Just try, if they steal it, it would be ****** up but I dont think they would do that.

Memberthe reason i didn’t post it was that… i was not thinking about a patent, just something that would registrate the concept as mine.. i know a patent would be costly, and (i am ashamed of it) my idea is not a BIG, Major upgrade…
It is just a tiny thing that could simplify (maybe not the right word) our playlisting inside traktor.
My thougts were: “Well, those guys from NI don’t give anything away to us, why should i give them my concept and help them make make without asking something in return?”
I don’t want to look like an egoistic asshole who only thinks about himself… i am nothing like that.
And i am even more ashamed to tell about my concept as you guys/gulls maybe wont find it that surprising or special for me to start thinkin about selling it… i just had to know your thoughts on this paradox of mine..
Well, maybe ill just give it away for them to incorporate to traktor and we all beneficiate from itHope you all understand and maybe dont judge me as an egoistic prick… when maybe two or 3 peeps reply to this i will post the ideia and then run to NI.
King regards to y’all

MemberIf you do think you have a truly brilliant idea, I understand how you might want recognition. Why not just share the idea in public so we all know you came up with it, and if NI decides to pick it up they’ll do the hard work and write the code.
Don’t think of it as giving it away, think of it as having NI write the code for you and turn your idea into something tangible that you and everyone else can actually use, and NI gets a better product. Everybody wins.

ParticipantWrite the idea down, and mail it to yourself. As long as you don’t open it, it is considered a legal/timestamped document to show that you had this idea first.

MemberI think you need to come to terms with the fact that unless you are an employee of Native Instruments you will never receive any remuniration for an idea you have to improve the software… If you are set on it start learning german and programming computers, get a job there than get there attention somehow. otherwise be happy if they impliment any idea’s from users in the software.
