My greatest issue with T2 is the freaking beatgrid.
It is wrong in 99% of all songs and in all songs that has not constant BPM or a change in tempo
it is not posiible to beatgrid at all.
That makes it very time consuming as you have to buy a copy of Ableton Live to get all tunes in constant BPM.
I suppose that it was the same with T1 (I never used it)
But there must be a way to improve the analysis of the beatgrid……..

Otherwise I second Papa Bears statement above.

Some interesting points. Over at DJ Tech Tools they were discussing improvements for the next version, which has been rolled up into this wish list open letter…

Agree 100% with you Hessler they may as well not even have a beatgrid, it is always wrong and “off beat”.

The other thing I hate is the “gain” or “autogain” .. totally useless !

Why do you call this totally useless? Every track is mixeddown in another way so I think the autogain is nice feature!

I totally agree with Papa Bear on the fact that you should be able to fit Traktor to your screen in a better way. I wasn’t thinking of stretching but rather push certain elements to different places. For instance put your decks on one screen and the library on the other.

I’ve to say I got used to it and addressing options as full screen and library overview to knobs on one of my controllers made it less annoying.

Hi Hauzer , I just find that it doesn’t work well and more often than not in-coming tracks are either too loud or soft.

I was having this very same discussion with Softcore, who knows more about Traktor than almost anyone I know and I posed the same question to him. He explained to me the in and outs of production and mastering and how there’s great variation even in tracks bought off legitimate sites.

His advice to me in a nutshell was to turn the auto-gain feature off and adjust manually and to also steer clear of Platinum notes.

Does it solve the auto gain problems ?

I do think it does most of the time but you can never get it 100% auto gained.
IMO when running PN and using Auto Gain in T2 it does not need much nudging but a little if you play
different genres and old/new music. It works fine for me….. It will help with PN but not 100%..
