I play mostly EDM, however find it a little agravating pressing shift and then having the gain button become the filter but and etc etc for other functions, the layout for the S4 seems to have everything there already layed out and could do a lot more, just mulling it over, just don’t know if it would be that much of a difference than replacing the S2 to the S4
Well if money isn’t a problem go get the S4. My opinion is that the first thing a dj has to learn is beatmatching. If your good at that, then you can go expand your setup to give yourself more options while mixing.
Get the S4 , it will make your life a lot easier. 4 channels allows you to get more creative and mash ups will be easier too. It’s better to have and not use rather than need and not have some smart guy once said…but seriously as you get better you’ll need 4 channels in the future anyway.

Thanks man I appreciate the advise and its what I have been leaning towards. I think everything laid out before me will allow me to get more experienced and creative with it.
Yeah totally right, having to use the shift button all the time gets annoying not to mention the fact that it makes it easier to get confused and make mistakes. You won’t regret it, let us know how you find the difference when you get it.
The biggest gripe i have with the S4 is how freakin big it is. Finding space in a booth to fit it is a bit of a pain in the ass.
I will say that not having a dedicated filter knob was a deal breaker for me. As well the fact that the filter knob on the S2 is clickly and not smooth is a bit of a breaker. I use my filter knob like crazy.

im just starting to djing and i really dont like the Shift + Gain = Filter thing, i would give a better use to that hand that is keeping the shift button on -.-
Another thing is the Filter knob itself, sometimes it just dont dont work, i mean maybe im movin it too fast the knob…wth
