There are plenty of apps for the iPad… Garage Band, imaschine, iKaosolator to name a few

If we are only talking music here, and no other uses you might have, I don’t see NEED for an iPad. Sure it’s nice and dandy and there’s Touch OSC/touchABLE and all, but for serious mixing and production you’ve got a MBP. That considered my advice: Get rid of the ipad and get yourself a serious controller abd software instead.
