how to hook turntables with controllers

Usually with most controllers, all they do is mix the input into the mixer section and to the master output. The software will do absolutely NOTHING, so you have to have audio vinyls and scratch like you would with an analog mixer and a turntable.

Then there are (very few) controllers like the S4 (which is Traktor Scratch compatible) that actually can use turntables with timecode vinyl. This way you can have a DVS (digital vinyl system) setup.
