All CDJ’s usually have an integrated screen on them that displays basic track information such as track name, BPM and even basic waveforms and beatgrids on the higher end CDJ’s.

using that info u can see the BPM of the track and use the pitch slider to beatmatch. hope this helps 🙂

If you come to a location where there are only CDJs and you are not allowed to bring the gear you are comfy with and it is your first gig, then you will fail and trainwreck it.
Sorry for the hard words, but I have seen this lots of times.

Small bars and lounges are extremely easy to setup your own gear.
If your laptop crashes have an mp3 player running backup until you are up again.

It’s all about knowing your music and storing your music so you find what you’re looking for. CD and Vinyl DJ’s often crate their music in BPM order. We. Digital DJ’s, use virtual crates, so in principle it’s the same. Know your music and know where to look for your next track.

    What Slim said basically.

Most CDJs will have a bpm counter on the display somewhere but it’s rare that it will display anything useful until after the track has been playing a short while. There really is no substitute to knowing your music collection.
Know your music and there aren’t many situations that will surprise you. In the interim, the organisation idea Slim mentioned above is probably the best way to go.

Sorry guys, it does not matter what CDJ it is. He is a beginner and he has no experience (judging by the question) so no matter what the CDJ offers, he will be unfamiliar with the equipment on top of the other things a first gig brings (not yet developed crowd reading skills, small track selection, nervousness, nausea,….) it will only work if he brings his gear.

I am with Terry on this one. The answer to the question is that, with enough experience and a conprehensive collection, you can play an all-nighter. Not an optimal situation, but doable. If you don’t feel you are there yet, you most probably are not.
