    Honestly I just use a 30 bucks microphone mount that attaches to any table – DJ booth. You can get that at any instrument shop or even guitar center has them…

    Yes, you could get a simple gooseneck mic (usually condenser though) or a separate gooseneck adapter, like this one:

    http://www.i4-muzique.nl/dap-xlr-gooseneck-40-cm-8806.html?gclid=CN7D2NjTrbwCFeXKtAodz0QAXg

    Depending on the size/weight of the mic you are using, you can just click it on (no need to use wireless when you are using it in a stand right?). At the bottom end you can make an XLR adapter on your case that it plugs right into.

    Or, if you want to keep the wireles and/or the option of taking the mic out of the clamp, then you can use something like this:

    Terry, I haven’t been able to find any mount that will clip to something, other than drum mic mounts.

    Chuck, I found that same gooseneck at guitar center:  http://www.guitarcenter.com/Shure-G18-Gooseneck-103397030-i1126533.gc

    Are those actually strong enough to hold up a standard cheap dynamic mic?

    I wouldn’t mind buying one of the all-in-one gooseneck condensor mics except that they’re expensive, and I don’t have phantom power on my MXR-19.

    Hey DusT,

    You can find a circular foot for these with thread. It will have three holes for screws, so you can screw it at the top of your case. I can think of a few other way to attach one, but we’d be getting into do-it-yourself country.

    I can’t speak for this particular make/brand of gooseneck and of course it depends on your mic (hoping you won’t go for cheap b.t.w.), but they should be able to hold up your microphone, yes.

    Finally, if you get a condenser, with a gooseneck with xlr at the bottom (like the other link I posted), you can use something like this:

    http://www.bax-shop.nl/phantom-power-supply/behringer-micropower-ps-400-compacte-fantoomvoeding/product-details.html

    It will provide phantom power to the mic. Price is decent at 25 euro. You can surely find a place for it in your coffin/flightcase. It WOULD look real clean as you won’t see any cabling going.

    Well to me a SM85 is a cheap mic 😉

    I guess I’ve gotta buy some parts for this project

    @Terry:

    I hope you don’t mind me saying so, but that is one butt-ugly contraption! I wouldn not want to have that anywhere near me at a live performance.

    Looks pretty sweet for studio/radio work though.

    @DusT:

    Yep, the 85 is a pretty decent and relatively cheap condenser. You might also want to check out the Rode M2 (if you can find one), they are a steal at 80 euro and very good. Another prospect could be the Lewitt MTP340 or 940.

    Indeed it us totally ugly, but I only use it for internet radio.

    As I said, seems great for that.
