It would all depend on the kind of music you are playing, the atmosphere of the club or mix you are recording, and where you plan to place the drop. It’s a preference thing. Get some different vocalists to record a few samples of your name drop. If you don’t know any vocalists, get some of your friends to try it out. Take it into an audio editor and play around with it.
I’ve never made a DJ name drop, but something I like to do in production when working with vocals is to take the first part of a vocal sample (So for my own name drop I would chop out the “Sko”). I then flip/reverse the wavform and play it out smothered in lots of Reverb. I record the reverb for 8 beats/16 beats and then delete the “Sko” from the beginning (or “oks” as it’s in reverse) so what I am left with is the reverb effected pattern. I would then flip this again and put my namedrop on the end. You could even take things a step further and add pulse or drive or any other effects to further stylize the effect.
Ultimately, what I’m left with is a rising effect leading to my name drop. The effect will really help to blend the name drop into your mix as if it’s supposed to be there. You could time it to drop after 8 beats or 16 beats etc. or you could use the effect and name drop independantly especially if you feel like mashing a little or getting creative in some way.
Hope that makes sense! haha
