    Recorder that you plug into the mixer of the PA. Some modern PAs even have a USB port to plug in a laptop to record.
    I did it a few times and recorded simply with GarageBand via the USB of the house mixer.

    hey, sorry i should have mentioned the gear im using to make it easier for you to help me 😛 im using a controller + laptop, hooked up to speakers and the mic plugged in my controller, does this mean there is a possible way of doing it through the computer or do i still have to buy a recorder? if i do still need one, can you recommend any to me? thanks

    With some controllers you should be able to route the mic through software and then go for it and simply press record in your DJ software.

    when doing it in just virtual dj with it set up as the mic as input it makes no difference , still cannot hear any voice on the recording 🙁

    Do you have VDJ Pro? VDJ LE does not support routing the Mic through software.
    So with the TM4 you need VDJ Pro and set the switch on the front of the TM4 to “route through software” for the mic input.
