Ableton live might be a good start. A bit expensive, but you could fine tune everything.
    I don’t how about iTunes

You can use DJ software but if you want to talk you’ll need software/hardware that’ll route the microphone through software so the whole output can be recorded digitally, or you’ll alternatively want to get an external mixer to mix your mix/DJ controller output together. Not sure about the iTunes thing either.

I can help you with this. I have a podcasting background. In regards to the music that you play on your podcast i would contact the artist or label directly to make sure to get the right permissions for podcasting. Every label is different. In order to get your podcast on Itunes you must create what is called a RSS feed link. This tutorial would be able to help you:

Once you create you RSS link then you use that URL to submit your podcast to Itunes. If you have any other questions please let me know. I am more than glad to help you.

    Hi

If you encounter too many problems with getting PRS/Label clearance for your tunes, it might be worth hosting your podcasts on something like Mixcloud, who deal with all that malarkey for you. The only downside is that the mix can only be streamed, not downloaded like usuale podcasts. However, the mix is easily embedded onto websites and and facebook pages so meets the need for marketing etc. I rarely download mixes now as my hard drive would be too full, I just favourite and on with the next – Ive got more than I have time to listen to and assume the same for those listening to mine.

On the second note of making a podcast I would recommend starting with the free Audacity and a cheap headset. Just import your mix into it and record a voice over into a separate track, you can also slit your mixes up for pauses and use another track for jingles etc. cheap but effective.
