    Make sure to setup a contract so it is clear that you were hired and you are not one of the organisers.
    Have a clause in your contract where you clearly state that your only responsibility is DJing and the organiser has to care about his license for the party, neighbours, drunk people,…

    I know having contracts sounds like it is over the edge for a house party, but in my book they are mandatory.

    I agree w/ Terry. As a police officer, I personally wouldn’t be going after the DJ for contributing (yes I might be biased), but technically, at least in my state (not DC) anyone over 21 could be charged…typically the home owner or person hosting the party would be charged. But I agree for sure w/ Terry, if you had something in writing even if you were cited I would think that any judge would throw it out.
