    Currently the rumour mill is quite silent, but then Maschine 2 was also only pre-run by a short sales of the old one.
    So at the moment your guess is as good as any. However the S4 is slowly but surely becoming a bit dated when we look at other controllers lifecycles.

    So I can get it now? It wont change soon? What would you advise I get because it is becoming “Dated:”

    As I said, I do not know exactly. If the S4 is worth it for you, is totally up to you, I cannot make that decision for you.

    In search for alternatives and possibilities.
    Controllers not included that might be worth a look:
    Terminal Mix 4 by Reloop
    VCI-400 by Vestax (including the EGE Version)
    all of those also work well with Traktor, but you need a separate Traktor License for about 80 bucks.

    I am sorry I cannot answer that question as I use neither the S4 nor Traktor as my DJ tools.

    My 2 Cents being a Traktor user who has the S4.

    The S4 is a great controller, works flawlessly with Traktor and i wouldnt get rid of mine. HOWEVER!

    I think that the new VCI-400 EGE off the DJ Techtools is probably a better controller. It has more functionality and has a host of new controllerism abilities that cannot be found on the S4. The only thing that i am leary of with the Vci400 is that it is a independant mapping made by DJtechtools not the full 1 to 1 mapping found on the S4.

    Totally agree with Hee on the VCI-400 EGE. Also adding that there is some latency on the EGE when using the jogs, as Traktor has no HID support for the jogs (I tested it only with Traktor 2.1.x so maybe Hee has more info if this got better with 2.5.x).
