Hi Richard, and welcome to the forums! I think you’ve beaten all records when it comes to post lengths, but a very interesting read indeed. Sounds like you’ve lived quite the colorful life, and have many stories and interesting experiences to share. I really like how to depict and describe the failures as well as the successes. Being able to realize what works and what doesn’t work, and having the confidence to trust in our choices, is perhaps the most important quality when playing for a live audience. It’s impossible to cater the wishes of everyone, but as a DJ, you have the final say in what is played and what isn’t.

Some of the things you talk about in your post, especially the stuff pertaining to your workflow, is better suited for the other parts of the forum. I’d advice you to do a bit of searching and reading on collection assortments. If you post our mix in the Mixes section, people can provide you with general feedback on your mixing skills.

    Best of luck!

Hi Guys, thanks for reading and the tip and comments, yes typical DJ can’t sleep when the moons out and got a bit carried away. Cut some of the text away and might make a good, DJ profile.
