Nice to meet you, man. I’m always down to work with people, although I’m not sure what I could work together with someone on. I don’t have any experience producing, remixing or anything right now

The only way to get experience is by doing and learning from it. If you only have someone that can give you realistic feedback, things as simple as recording a practice session in Serato and letting someone else comment on it could be immensely valuable.

Look man, I’m not really looking for experience, I mean I am, but I want to work with people who even if they don’t know everything, are willing to put in work to make themselves and the other person better. Like I mean I have experience, but there is still a lot I can learn, but all I want is to make it, it’s who I am, and I’m looking for people who share that same passion, which is why if you don’t know something but you have the mentality to do what you have to to gain that learn that knowledge you will be fine. how old are you by the way? Not creeping, I’m 17, but still, I’m willing to help, if your willing to put in the work.

@DJ Vintage – Yep! I try and record stuff and have people listen to it every once in a while, but it’s something I should do more of. My local music shop also has a thing every week where people can come in and practice on some of the controllers they have set out, and the owner, who’s also a professional DJ, will give pointers. That was really big in helping me get started

@Dromer – I’m definitely looking to get better and learn new stuff (especially producing, which is high on my list of things I want to learn, but there’s such a high barrier to entry in terms of cost and knowledge). Music is one of the things I’m very passionate about in life, and I love learning more about it any way that I can. Shoot me an email (address should be in my profile I think?) and we’ll see if there’s something we can work on. I’m 24 by the way, I got into the game a little late!

    Hi Kevin,

I think you’ll find the cost of producing is actually really small if you already have a computer, there is free or nearly free software and all you need is a keyboard and mouse. An external soundcard and a set of decent monitors helps, but are not necessary to get a hang of the workflow, the software, the general art of production.

You don’t need 3k worth of gear to start getting into production, imho.

    Kevin,

It’s all good man, everyone starts somewhere. I’ll send you a email later and we can talk if you want. I’ll help you on what you can do to help prepare yourself for mixing and producing, especially producing cuz there’s a big learning curve you have to get past with producing but once you get past it, it’s pretty easy. Do you have any experience with music, like any musical background anything that would, give you something besides absolute zero knowledge.

First of all welcome Kevin its nice to meet you and you too dromer. Well i just wanted to tell you guys that i’ve been mixing over 3 years now, and i wont say im good because i cant say that, you are the ones who are going to decide if i am good or not, but i’ll give you my mixcloud and soundcloud account so you can check my mixes.

Actually i mix with a ddj wego and a compaq cq10, and i just wanted to tell you that the pad’s in the ddj sx are really much the same as the samplers in the ddj wego because at the end, all controllers have almost the same functions and utilities, thats just marketing, but anyway i also leave my mail so i can help you both.
