    Hi, I had just bought the Crane stand when this came out. And although I love the Crane (even at it’s “ridiculous” price), I soon started thinking the UDG one would have been better, with only one center “stick”. Making it possible to rotate the platter some, handy if you want to place your stand off-center. Then the Hercules came out and you can buy two of those for only one Crane/UDG, making the possibly weak link at the tightening knobs less of an issue.

    Does it also offer rotation of the top platter?

    I don’t believe it does, which might have something to do to how it maintains sturdiness, weight distribution and all. Can’t see why you wouldn’t want to just have it in the direction you want as the feet have a very low profile and in a “V” as oppose to a square shape.

    Hmm…You could probably use it for mini keyboards and controllers as well.

    Yep, that is probably true, you could turn the entire thing as long as both feet stay on the table (and preferably under equipment or flightcases for added stability).
