What is your level right now? I don’t think Terry will like this very much, but you can learn a lot on youtube from channels like ellaskins, djbolivia, djtechtools and digitaldjtips absolutely free. And it’s not just some of those “what is a crossfader” tutorials, it goes pretty deep.

What you need to do is look at where you are now, and where you want to be. Only then will you be able to see what skills are neccesary and how you will aquire them. Grabbing the most expansive (not expensive, expAnsive) tutorial set is absolutely useless if you don’t know what you’re going to do with it.

Hehe nah I am OK with it Marco.
I get no money from digitaldjtips 😉 but I know the high quality of the courses and you not only get videos but downloadable material and a special Q&A forum where tutors answer your questions daily. So it is much more in depth as those tutorials that are sometimes hard to understand if you do not know the context and in which order you should watch them.
So the decision is quite simple:
If you want it step by step and have no effort seeking the information, take a course here. If you have no trouble finding stuff and combining different sources and want to take real effort in searching for all of it and maybe sometimes hit the brick wall and take the effort to dig out again, it is also doable totally using free sources.

Thanks for your time on this I do appreciate your replies. It’s one thing reading the posts but to take the time to reply, I am true grateful.

My level is pretty much summarised below:

I understand the DDJ-SB hardware fully.

I am still learning what potential the Serato Intro can get to.

Mixing is slow, I have just managed to mix my first two tracks haha

I can beat match with the sync function but still learning via the jog wheels.

    Nothing about key matching

    Hope this helps guys
    Cheers again
    David

The I would advise: Do not push yourself too hard.
Do some basic work. Like listen to your favourite songs on your iPod or phone and just add some beat and bar counting to it.
Like count the beats in a bar:
    1,2,3,4 – 2,2,3,4 – 3,2,3,4 – 4,2,3,4
So the first beat is actually the bar count and the other numbers are the following beats in this bar.
Automate it and your mixing will improve a hundred times.
Then take some time off relax play around with the gear just experiment, then get serious again. Makes learning much faster.
