I usually hook up CDJs to my laptop with USB through a hub. Then when prompted pick the appropriate deck number for each. This is with Mixvibes Cross of course, but the same should work for RB (are you using DJ or regular RB?).

An additional sound card should not be necessary.

This is exactly what’s happening mate, I select which deck is which at the start, deck one works fine, can pick and select tracks but nothing in the 2nd, even though it’s linked up…?

I can play deck 1, comes through the mixer an all, but nothing in the second, odd

    RBDJ I’m using also…

I don’t think it runs through the link (the one between the two CDJs) but you need BOTH CDJs hooked up through USB to the laptop individually? The link is to be able to sync, share a USB stick or CD and talk to the (Pioneer) mixer. Unless I missed something, which is totally possible 😀

It’s fucking driving me mad haha

Yeah, I hear that. Don’t have CDJs here, so can’t replicate your situation unfortunately. Hopefully one of our other readers does have that option and is willing to pitch in.

    Have you had a look here..https://rekordbox.com/en/support/faq_archive.php?c=172 ???

I’m not familiar with RBDJ but I know people who have similar issues with Traktor as the system gets confused because by connecting the two CDJ’s to the computer, you are essentially giving it two sound cards (1 per CDJ) and this needed an adjustment making in the settings of the application.

Let me know if this is any help and I will keep scratching my head… As per DJ Vintage, unfortunately I’m not in a position to replicate the problem so can only assist with head scratching and ideas!

This is handled when you use HID, no sound card selection necessary I think. If I understand the OP correctly, his problem is he can’t control the 2nd deck.

IF the sound card issue is there, it can be easily fixed by aggregating devices on Mac (super simple) or by using Asio4All drivers on Windows (not so simple).

    Cheers for the reply lads

Right, I’ve got it working essentially, I’ve put a switching hub with Ethernet cables coming from both decks, into the hub then into the laptop, bit of a ballache really but it is working…

I’m not sure its using RB properly though, as the ‘decks’ in RB are pretty much useless in that regard aren’t they?? No point in having them there…? I’m probably missing something simple here haha
