I don’t know the answers to all your questions, but I can tell you what I know from using VDJ:
1) Make sure that the channel VU’s (in VDJ) aren’t clipping and also that the master VU (on the controller) isn’t clipping. Clipping on either of these meters results in loss of sound quality.
2) From what I’ve heard the largest complaint about the previous EQ’s was the default eq bands that were used. Since these are now configurable the new parametric EQ should be fine for anyone who doesn’t need a 4 band equaliser.
3) Not quite sure about this one, but it should be something like this:
KEY: FX1_LEFT ACTION : deck left effect 1 slider 1 & deck left effect 2 slider
4) I think the set_cue command should work here. As long as you don’t want more than one cue point per track you could simply use set_cue 1 for the cue button. Otherwise you could use set_cue 99 (asuming you use less than 99 regular cue points)
5) I think the quadratic fader gives you more precision in the uppermost regions of the fader and less precision on the lower regions. Not quite sure why this is preferable, but I almost always have my faders either fully on or fully closed.
