    Sorry to be vague, I was just wondering if I needed any more equipment than I already had (bar a laptop) and advice on getting work/gigs thats all, but it seems that I will have to look through the forum instead so thanks anyway 🙂

    In theory all you need is a Laptop to start gigging, and use the keyboard mappings to control whichever software you use.
    And a far as getting gigs goes, when you are ready, make a promo mix and talk to promoters and get yourself known. Have fun

    People indeed invest in thousands of dollars for DJ gear when they start when all they would need is a good (used) low-end controller and any laptop sitting around unused. And with Traktor just now having a 50% discount…

    I’ve seen people dj with only laptops/headphones before, so I’d say it sounds as if you have everything you need. As far as gear goes, I find the more gear I have, the more versatility I have in a performance and the more variation I can offer.

    For instance, you only need 3-4 low end clubs to go golfing. However, you’ll see most people lugging around a full bag, and have duplicates of the same club.

    Cheers guys for all your advice, Yes I will get some headphones and a laptop then im done, I’m using Virtual DJ pro atm as its cracked but if I get enough gigs I will buy the proper version.
