    The rane SL1 is not supported by Serato DJ anymore. I would stay away from it and at least buy the SL2 which has replaced it. Also make sure if you buy used to update the SL2 to the newest firmware.

    Good value for money are Vestax and Reloop turntables.

    Thank you terry for the advice
    i am really confused about bying my first gear and i don’t want to buy something that i can upgrade later
    So, i ma thinking about this set-up (it’s clear i will add turntables laters 😉 )
    what mixer do you recommand ?
    is this better than DDJ-SX ?
    should i buy traktor S4 + kontrol F1 ?

    If you are just starting out… no I would never go for that setup.

    As a bare minimum DVS system (aka you want real DVS to go for you and not just DVS for the sake of DVS) I would at least go for:
    – Rane SL2
    – 2x Reloop RP-8000 turntables
    – Ortofon needles
    – A&H Xone 23 Mixer

    Nearly perfect setup would be:
    – Rane Sixty-Four Mixer
    – 2x Reloop RP-8000 turntables
    – Ortofon needle sets
    – Pioneer DDJ-SP1
    – High Quality USB 2 Hub

    If you do not have the money to spend, stay away from DVS.

    I konw that DVS system are expensive but i want to learn some turntablism, that’s why i asked about the set up above!
    So, for a beginner who wants to learn haw to play hip hop, dubstep music, scratch, samples, etc what dou you recommend ?
    At a budget of 900 euro, i can have the DDJ-SX or TRAKTOR S4!
    I really like traktor and remix decks function but i do like the SX for its layout (really dope)
    so ???

    If you want to use Traktor get the S4.
