KeymasterOut of those: Terminal Mix 2 and get the bundle with Serato DJ, less expensive than the upgrade later.

MemberIt really depends on what your going to be doing with your controller. But I’m putting my vote in for the Denon MC3000.
I love this thing so much, I’ve taken it to several gigs and it works flawlessly everytime. You can’t beat it’s build quality, your friends can play through it with it’s line inputs (very useful for me since my friend and I play together alot), small jogs but can scratch effectively on it. It’s fits in my gym bag and can withstand some abuse. Which happens more than one would think.
The only reason I wouldn’t get it is because other controllers are geared towards mapping ability or cue point juggling. You can do both of those on the MC3000 but it isn’t the most effective at either. What the MC3000 is great at is A->B mixing, and light cue juggling, and being a freakin’ tank, a portable one at that.

MemberThanks for the replies, for now I just plan to use it at home to practice and record mixes and generally have some fun, as time passes hopefully do some small parties just for fun, I am kind of hoping to find something to run good on Traktor as I have a few friends who also use it. I didn’t realise until now that the Reloop is sold as a Serato controller and works best with it. To put it simply…I’m looking for a solid, reliable controller which works good with Traktor and will keep me busy for a while without finding myself with very limited possibilities, still leaning towards the Denon at the moment

ModeratorThe MC3000 has native Traktor support. And for VDJ. And it’ll work with MixVibes Cross. So short of Serato you have everything covered. Don’t think you’ll be lacking much , it is not a “limited possibilities” controller in my mind.

^^^ what he said… I find the cue point juggling to be okay for my needs

Greetinx,
C.Yes, Traktor has a MC3000 mapping, but I’ve found that it only works with the 2-deck layout. The 4-deck layout I can only control the volume of C-D, but nothing else.
Also the native traktor mapping doesn’t light up unless you press a button, instead use this mapping.

ParticipantI have the Numark N4, it really nice, it uses traktor, vdj, serato and I think one more software but if you want to get more out of it you’ll need the full version of each software. It seems MC3000 is calling out to you so I think you should go for that. If the controller calling out to you I think you’ll be much happier with that then buying something else and then later regretting you didn’t by the Denon MC3000.

There was a point in time I would have agreed with you. Nowadays stuff from ADJ is a lot better than it used to be. I have been using some of their recent LED flat pars and they are sturdy and do as advertised. I think there are quite a few rather happy VMW 4.1 folks out there. And if bedroom DJ-ing is all you are after I think it has a good price/performance ratio. Pretty good price for a lot of functionality.
Clearly it sits on the bottom shelf, with Behringer, Citronic and other such brands, but if money is an issue, it would be worth checking out.

MemberThanks everyone for your help, I’m going to go for the mc3000, as “Dj Emazing” pointed out, it is calling out to me for some reason so I know if I don’t go for it I could end up regretting it. Thanks again everyone 🙂

MemberIf you go with Traktor use the mapping above to make sure of the LEDs! Not only is it pretty, but it helps in dark environments!
Good luck with the purchase!
