    Mix. I have no software. I love rock/indie music and would like to make sweet mixes and mashups.
    e.g. i want to put a melody from a song from the Magic Flute over the drum intro to DOn’t Bring Me Down by ELO.

    If you truly set on mash-ups. Get ableton

    I started on a Hercules controller. Although they dont play cd’s, they are cheap and easy to use. Probably would be esiest to convert all your Cd’s to Mp3’s. A good Controller that plays cd’s would break the bank.

    I’d say forget CDs – just rip them and play the digital files. In my experience DJs who want to use CDs end up doing this anyway, and there’s a much better choice of 100% digital controllers rather than hybrids.
