I did a 13th birthday party.Never Again! The girl wanted stuff played from her I-phone and not what I was actually asked to play by her mother which was 2014 chart stuff.
Then when the girl gave her mother some lip and went outside to play with her friends the mother then blamed me for ‘playing the wrong stuff’ There were about 12 people all told including the kids and I packed up and left after 40 minutes. You cannot talk to an empty room and I think kids are the hardest audience especially if you get bolshie parents as well.

Never ever again will I do a teens party!

Hmmmmm, seems to me that some have sure had strange experiences with teens. Well, Since I myself am 14, i cant blame “us” teens, either. But where I come from, the parents dont pay much attention to the music played [its us teens who do]. So, If the parents are out of question [unlike david’s case], i would recommend finding out what genre the birthday girl likes, then play tracks around that genre. After all an 11-year-old’s birthday party wont last more than 2-3 hours i guess. xD

Yep DJ Cheeku, tip is talk to the parents find out what they want, then talk to the kid find out what they want and get some agreement between them as to what and what not to play. Try and get a playlist from this way beforehand.

Keeps everyone sort of happy. Usual problem you can keep some of the people happy some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time.
