Howdy and welcome to the forum!

I am sure you will find loads of relevant information and a very friendly and helpful community.

Tip: if you have a question, try making it as specific as you can. This will get you the best answers usually.

Starting to practice DJ-ing digital-style can be as easy as downloading one of the free or trial versions of DJ software and getting going. Any PC or laptop (and as a student I am assuming you WILL have one of those!) will do usually. Stick in headphones or even the little in-ear thingies from your cell phone and off you go.

Added bonus is you will get to learn the keyboard shortcuts, which is always helpful.

If money is truly tight and you get to the point where you want an actual controller or speakers, try ebay or any other online marketplace. There are so much new controllers coming out and lots of tech junkies buying the latest and greatest that you can usually pick up something decent for not too much money.

That way you can find out what it is you really need/want by way of equipment before going out and spending your hard earned and saved money on new material.

Enjoy your stay here at the DDJT forums.

    Greetinx,

    Chuck

Hellow EB, and welcome to the forum,

I suggest not rushing yourself to get a brand new shiny controller ( I know how tempting that is), plus I know how it is being a co-ed and all, stick what Chuck suggested to you
