I know you stated you are a beginner, but does this mean you will strictly bedroom djing or wanting to play out soon too? Requirements for headphones for bedroom djing are obviously not as stringent as headphones for playing out somewhere with a PA system.

As I tell everyone, I happen to love the sound quality and design of the redwaves but they are a little clunky especially when wearing them around the neck.

I dont think I would bedroom DJ, of course while a start I will be, but as soon as I start getting better, and getting my better gear, etc. I would start playing out.

Thanks phil, and they fit in my budget. But do they have good sound quality? And do they last? Sorry for all the questions btw.

Yes, I’m happy with mine and they’ve taken a bruising for the last 12 months.

Honestly, I am still a student, so all the gear I have I buy from my own savings.. I got the Numark Redwaves, feature wise awesome! Its all metal but covered with plastic as well… Prolly will be sticking to these headphones until I get some Technics headphones.. but these are just headphones… unless my redwaves dies all of a sudden on me

Sony 7506 are about $95 and are very durable.

I use Sony MDR-V500’s and have been using similar models for the past 15 years (I think they’ve changed the model number along the way somewhere). Maybe not the best ones out there, but they work, aren’t too expensive, and fold up nicely for travel.

Just bought sony v700 for £62. Nice headphones, good sound and comfortable on my big head.

You should IMO be very careful when buying “cheap” headphones.
Your hearing is very important and you should be careful chosing a hedphone that can handle high volume without sounding bad! If you only play at home on low volume it might be OK with a 100$ HP but in a live situation you really need something better IMO because otherwise you might hurt your ears!
