But the HDJ C70 is a direct competitor to the HD25 at the $200 price point….

Actually they are about 25% cheaper here than the 25s. If it says Pioneer, expect to pay a bonus for the name.

We can’t tell you which to buy. It’s just too personal a choice. We are saying the HD-25s are a solid choice, cans that have been around in studio’s, life sound tents and DJ booths since forever. Sexy, no, bragging rights, no. But built like a tank, with every single component replaceable (including a choice of curly or straight cable), good all-round sound and knowing looks of appreciation from us old pro’s LOL.

They have been around for well over 25 years, that in itself is a statement.

Of course there are other good cans on the market and it depends so much on application and your ears too.

So, time to shape up, listen to what you can get your hands on and make a choice. We can’t do that for you.

I bought a pair of HD-25 II and never made up my mind about headphones again.
