I only played with it for an hour or so, but I was impressed by the integration into Traktor and the awesome build quality. However it is huge, but that is a plus for me, as it is by no means cramped and you have a real good feeling using it.
Even for a non Traktor fan like me it was a blast to use.

The lack of decent VUs is the main drawback, you can’t easily monitor the cue channels. Apart from that it’s a wonderful controller.

id say just make sure you’re comfortable making the switch to Traktor. other than that, i’ve heard nothing but good things about it (besides the VU’s).

I’ve had the 4Trak for 4-5 months now, lots of fun. The only drawbacks I’ve found is as Phil says, the missing VU’s. It is however possible to remap the time-progress indicators to be VU’s for the active deck on each side. The platters is a dream to work with, the build-quality is impressive, the pitches feels exactly like the ones on the SL-1210 MKII DDT, except for the missing annoying mid-tick. No reason not to go for it. Go 4Trak! 🙂

Wow! I’m definitely drooling now. I have been using Traktor as my main software for months now so that won’t be a problem, and I think having the progress indicators as VUs is hilarious. Thanks for all your thoughts. I guess it’s time to hit ebay…
