    I forgot to mention, I primarily play R&B, Hip-Hop, and Pop. I also play of genre of music known as Go-Go. Its a genre that originated in D.C. in the late 70’s/early 80’s and it still thrives today. Go-Go is usually performed by local bands and its very beat heavy with live drums and congas and cowbells (Google Chuck Brown, Trouble Funk, Rare Essence, E.U.). Most of the the recordings are done live also and the drummers play different beats. So, I’m having to work a little harder to beatmatch Go-Go but i will survive. lol

    Hey Syd, welcome to the forums! Cool to have someone who has active promotion experience, I think this is a topic from which many DJs can profit, so please feel free to write some topics about it.

    And for what it’s worth, I prefer Big Syd, to Syd-Digital.

    Thanks. I will do just that! lol

    Maybe you can help me out with some of my mixes. Right now, I’m doing a lot of straight cuts and dropping on the one when working with R&B and Hip-Hop. If the BPM’s are close I may try other ways of getting into the next song.

    Hmmmm, maybe I should reconsider. There is a well known DJ in the area that plays events and is on the radio named DJ Big John and I was trying to distance myself from him. I may have to just roll with the DJ Big Syd or DJ Syd maybe.

    I’ve learned to always listen to the opinion of the ladies. Looks like DJ Big Syd is winning the race now! lol
