The problem might be USB 3.0. Check if you have USB 3 ports.
If you do try a powered USB 2 hub between the laptops USB 3 port and your mixtrack.

Hi Terry thanks for that info, my laptop is running usb 2.0 so that cant be the issue. I have just got off the phone from Numark been on the phone with a really helpful chap for an hour and ten minutes going all through the options and nothing worked, eventually we come to the conclusion that although my new laptop would appear top spec the AMD dual core processor just isnt up to stratch with coping with the mixtrack pro, it cannot be any other option we went through every single possibilty. So looks like im going to look for a different laptop, an intel! Frustrating.

Yeah I heard about such issues… good that he took the time to nail all the other possibilities first, sounds like their support is really good. I am impressed.

Umm…sorry but i dont buy that for a second. Virtual dj should run fine on any modern laptop. I’m running virtual dj on a similar laptop right now. One thing i am sure of is that you dont need another laptop. I dont care what some phone jockey at numark told you, that just screams of bs.
Just sounds like settings or driver issues to me

Yeah i would have to disagree with the comment saying that the AMD processor isnt good enough for the mtp.

I had an old AMD powered Toshiba laptop that i used to use for gigging all the time on Traktor…and Traktor is a lot more resource intensive than VDJ.

I suggest going to the Native instruments website and download the 30 day trial of Traktor pro and if Traktor is working on it with no problems then its not a processor problem…it is most likely a driver problem…or it could be a latency issue with VDJ.

Have you looked at the sampling rates that you have set for VDJ? Sometimes DJ programs will set your buffer to like 24 rather than 192 or 256.

This issue happens to me once in a while on Traktor where my sample rate normally at 192 will get reset to 32 and itll cause all sorts of problems.

As well take a look into the VDJ and see if they have a multicore support or not.
