    Not having XLR is not a problem. You want BALANCED outputs, and the two 6.3 mm jacks are balanced. So no sweat there.

    Since it’s advisable to hook up your controller directly to your laptop (anything else you can hook up through a -powered- usb-hub), as long as the USB port is working correctly you’ll have power. It’s not a standalone mixer as far as I know, so you’ll always need a computer to use it with. Therefor I wouldn’t worry about it being solely USB-powered (safes you the trouble of carrying a seperate powersupply and an extra power outlet 🙂 ).

    The DDJ-SR has TRS balanced master outputs… just as good as XLR and you can use TRS to XLR cable if your mixer or PA needs XLR as inputs. (but most have both TRS and XLR so a standard TRS to TRS cable will suffice)

    I have been using a USB powered controller for 2 years now and never had a problem. In fact I like that I have no additional power brick around… less clutter in the booth.
