I have the same problem. Although I started dj’ingt again a year and a half ago and had some gigs, this is an issue for me too. I get very little plays on soundcloud, and sometimes zero plays on mixcloud for weeks.
This site did some articles on this. here is a 3 piece series. You cand find part 1 here http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2013/11/get-dj-podcast-soundcloud-youtube-itunes-part-1/

I think the general advice is to build a brand for yourself. Be active on social media. Maybe start a facebook page and a twitter account for yourself as DJ. If people respond to your mixes on soundcloud and youtube. respond back to them. In general it is a good idea to follow people back who follow you. Spend some time on it. Try to upload mixes regularly. So people know what to expect and when to expect. This is something I struggle with. You know, to upload regularly. But I do think that is important. But I am somewhat chaotic when it comes to planning things 😀 also making mixes.

And yeah, you just started out. So people don’t know you …. yet. And remember there are so many DJ’s out there. And we all want to get ourselves heard. It is a tough competition.
