I downloaded a software from versiontracker, I do not even remember what its name was… It looked like a CD and you could drag songs onto the CD, the songs titles would then be displayed in a circle on the CD and the programm would automix. You could alter some simple stuff like blend length, autobeatmatch settings and some minor tweaking…
At the time I thought: If this is DJ software I am sticking with my CDJs (and so I did for another few years).
Running two instances of WINAMP at once. Then I used pcdj, then zulu(joy). From there traktor 3 le with a bcd3000 (Happiness), then tractor pro with the 3000(JOY), then traktor pro with an s4(HEVAN)!!!!!
I downloaded some early version of Virtual DJ and used to just put it on automix when I was getting ready to go to school or going out. I had only really just discovered electronic music so my playlists were pretty atrocious.
Mixmeister 2. It came bundled with an Soundblaster audio card I purchased back in ’99. Nice program, easy to learn too.
But I couldn’t see myself playing out with it. So I gave up on it.
I downloaded Virtual DJ and just used it to slow tracks down (Metal stuff) to make easier to nail solos on my guitar. Also played backwards a few songs that were said to have satanic messages. LOL that was FUN!!!!
I downloaded Mixxx from the App Store thinking it was a program to make remixes/mashups with rather than a DJ software (I thought it was more along the lines of Jamglue, does anyone remember that site?)
You could say I was accidentally introduced to the world of DJing, but I’ve been hooked ever since.
