    Hey man, I’ve been in the same situation as you, heck you’ve done one better than me – I still haven’t posted my mix onto the forums yet! – so I thought I’d drop you a comment or two.

    I think the mix is great, I can’t say I’m an expert on the darker side of dubstep (at least not this dark) but the track selection is pretty good, it flows well, apart from (for me) the track from 5:40, its sandwiched between calmer tracks and so it seems a bit out of place without a significant buildup, if you know what I mean.

    And as much as I don’t want to point it out, since I’ve been in the same situation with my mixes and the fact it wouldn’t get noticed if this were performed live (the benefits of online distribution eh) is 10:46 I can hear you cueing in a track. It’s not too much of a problem, I guess it’s just me being picky.

    Last thing is, as I’ve recently been converted, look up Mixcloud instead of soundcloud, it has an unlimited upload space so it doesn’t use up your soundcloud minutes, as well as timespacing your mixes (you can tell it when the second song comes in and it’ll display what song is playing at the time).

    Good work though, you’ve got a new follower 🙂

    First off, thank you soooo much for listening and doubly so for commenting. Thank you even more for the feedback. I’m glad you liked it, and I realize there were some rough spots, this is just the first mix I made that when I listened to it I thought “hey, that’s not half bad”. As for being “picky”, I really feel that’s something all of us new DJ’s should hear. It’s one thing to have your friends listen, then tell you it was good because they don’t any better. It’s another thing entirely to have another DJ say, “It’s good, but you need to work on this, this and this”. It’s that sort of thing that I feel I NEED to hear if I want to get any better. So again, thank you 1000 times. I’ll set up a mixcloud account as soon as I get off work. Do you by chance have anything at all I could check out? Maybe return the favor you’ve done me?

    Don’t get me wrong, soundcloud’s still good, especially if you’re using tracks you’ve found on the site, and I wouldn’t leave it altogether if you’ve got a fair few friends on it, I’m just following Phil’s advice 😉 (plus I don’t have many soundcloud friends aha)

    I’m sure all the niggles will be worked out by a second mix 🙂

    As for my stuff, you’ve encouraged me to stop being so scared and give it it’s own thread 😛
