Glad to hear the “live” report from a CDJ user that considers it a step forward moving to a controller.

Many controller DJs seem to think moving the other direction is the more “pro” option. An opinion not supported by the moderators here 🙂 .

Still nice to hear your early experience.

    Thanks.

Yea I can see why people have the impression that cdjs are ‘pro’ or ‘proper’ djing but I think this is more of a visual aspect as the reality is controller/software opens up so many more options.
I started with vinyl, then cds, next was DVS so to me the next logical step was a controller as upgrading my cdjs wouldnt have felt like I was going forward.

Im very new to the controller world but I can honestly say I cant see myself going back to a cdj set up again.

Good to hear it went well, one thing I select on Serato is select the option to lock the deck so that you have to stop playing a deck before you can re-load or change tracks. Saved me a few times.

Right on! Thanks for sharing. The Numark Mixtrack Pro 2 was my first controller, and I still use it for most outings and even most of my practice at this point. I have a TM8 now and am getting more familiar with it, but it’s staying in the cave until I get a case/bag for it. Keep us posted on how things go!
