I would do it if you have the time. Make a playlist of top 40 songs or whatever find some remixes maybe, whatever works make it fun!

    Go for it!

I’d say just to calm your nerves prepare a large playlist of well known tracks (definitely keep it top 40 / well known songs) and then have a bit of fun.

If you weren’t there, they would just hear a playlist, you may as well get up there and get a bit of practice on with a real crowd. But that is just my view. Good luck whatever you chose mate.

You will have a ball! Perfect time to get to play for a crowd, without there really being many consequences if you make a bad mix or slip up at any point as to be honest, the crowds ears probably won’t be that well trained if all they want to hear is top 40!

It will also give you confidence going forward as well and in my opinion the positives definitely outweigh the negatives!

do the gig but try and get some money out of the school for bringing alll of your equipment ,sounds like they don’t wanna spend any money on a dj.

Definitely take the gig, it’s an addicting experience. Don’t plan out the set because there’s always a chance that the crowd will not be responsive to whatever you’ve planned so then you have to think on the fly. Get out there and have fun!

Haha, expectations are set high. I just learned today that DJ Shiftee grew up in the same town I did but he did not go to my school, the other one in the town

    DO IT!

Get a big folder of tracks you may one to use, give yourself some practice runs when you can and just go for it. Not only will it be the most fun you’ve ever had but you’re going to be school famous!

Go out and rock the party. 🙂

Enjoy it. Forget the pressure. Just go for it on your way, your rules!

Honestly, I’d go for it. DJing the dance can open up huge doors for house-party djing, and that’ll be a blast.

I would say go for it. 1) Here’s your chance for some exposure. 2) When you start doing gigs for people you can learn how to adjust. Everybody doesn’t listen to rave or etc… 3) A lot of people, parents, schools pays very good for parties & proms. Especially if the DJ HAS VERY CLEAN MUSIC!! Trust me I learned this the hard way!!

Definitely do it. I’ve done events with my (in college) and it got me tons of publicity. I received another DJ offer right after it. Follow the advice that these other guys have given you and you will be golden. I’ll also throw in there, to see if you could work out a little bit of payment since you will be extremely less expensive than if they were to hire a DJ.
